We've seen a tricky phishing email circulating this week. The email usually comes from a person you know, asking you to "click and download the file." If you click and follow the link it directs you to a page that mimics the Google sign-in page. The email may look like this:



If you have followed this link and entered your username/password then your account is most likely compromised. 


If so: please email Tim and let him know, then change your password immediately. It's also recommended that you check your Gmail settings to delete all filters that you didn't create yourself (shown below). From your Gmail, go to the gear wheel and click "Settings," then go to "Filters and Blocked Addresses." Select and delete any that you didn't create. 




For future safety, it's best to be skeptical and not follow any suspicious links you receive in email. Any email that directs you to enter a login name, password or personal data may be from a malicious source, "phishing" for access to your private information.
